Coldplay understands fans' deep love for Taylor Swift.

On Saturday, July 20, frontman Chris Martin, 47, took a moment to acknowledge those in Germany who may be missing the star, who had just performed in Gelsenkirchen on Friday, July 19. "Now this is for Taylor Swift, because she left town," Martin said in a video shared to social media by a fan.

"This is for all of you who feel sad today because Taylor had to go to the next city," the seven-time Grammy winner continued, "So we sing this love song, this heartbreak song, and send it to Taylor wherever she is today." As the audience erupted into cheers, Martin then began playing Coldplay's song, "Everglow."

Swifties flocked to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise Martin for the sweet shoutout, with one person posting, "I am thrilled by artists who show their kindness and respect and love for each other! It is spreading positivity around. Blessed are you Chris Martin!" Others began speculating if it meant there was a collaboration on the way.

One X user shared a screenshot of lyrics to "Everglow," pointing out ones that could also relate to Swift. They shared the lines, "Like a lion you ran, goddess you rolled. Like an eagle you circled, in perfect purple," alongside a photo of Swift in the purple fur coat she wears to perform "Lavender Haze," from her Midnights album.

The dedication came the day after Swift finished up her first three Germany tour dates at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, which is not far from the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, where Martin was performing with Coldplay. The city of Düsseldorf may be sad, but Swift is returning for more Eras Tour shows in Hamburg and Munich from Tuesday, July 23, to Sunday, July 28.

After Swift's show on Thursday, July 18, fans swooned seeing her leave with boyfriend Travis Kelce, who had been in attendance at the Eras Tour for the 13th time. The pair seemed to be making the most of their time together before Kelce had to head back to the United States for training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs.
