Taylor Swift's bespoke endorsement of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ahead of the 2020 presidential election has gone viral after resurfacing online.

The "Bad Blood" singer, who is said to hold enough influence to sway an election, celebrated Harris in a vice-presidential debate with specially made cookies.

In October 2020, Swift declared she was voting for Democrats Biden and Harris by posting a photo holding a plate of custom cookies decorated with the Biden/Harris campaign logo.

Swift explained in the social media post at the time that she had conducted an interview with V Magazine about her decision to vote for Biden.

"So apt that it's come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies," she added.

The photo of Swift holding the custom cookies was reposted on X, formerly Twitter, by user @thehomiehopper.

"Let's fire up that oven mama @taylorswift13," he captioned the post which has gone viral with 1.6 million views at the time of publishing.

Newsweek has contacted Swift's representatives by email for comment.

Harris is now the frontrunner to earn the Democratic presidential nomination after President Biden stepped down from the race.

"My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats—it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this," he wrote in his statement announcing his decision to not contest November's election.

While Swift is yet to endorse any candidates for the 2024 election, there is no doubt of her influence.

Exclusive polling conducted for Newsweek by Redfield & Wilton Strategies in January found that 18 percent of voters say they're "more likely" or "significantly more likely" to vote for a candidate endorsed by the singer.

Seventeen percent said they would be less likely to vote for a Swift-backed candidate, while 55 percent would be neither more nor less likely to do so.

The survey, which had a sample size of 1,500 eligible voters, was conducted on January 18 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.53 percent.

Voter registrations also surged after Swift encouraged fans to sign up to vote.

In 2023 on National Voter Registration Day, Swift posted to Instagram, where she urged her fans to register on the nonpartisan, nonprofit website Vote.org. According to the organization, it received more than 35,000 registrations after her post, which was almost a 25 percent increase over the same day the previous year.
