Actors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes made an extremely rare public appearance with their two young daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8.
Alongside dozens of other celebrities and their families, the family of four attended the equestrian Grand Prix freestyle at the Chateau de Versailles on Sunday August 4 as seen in photos obtained by Parade. Gosling, Mendes, and their daughters were later spotted attending the women's artistic gymnastics uneven bar finals where Suni Lee took the bronze medal.
As Gosling, 43, and Mendes, 50, are famously private and known for intentionally keeping their daughters out of the spotlight, the girls were kept out of most event photos. However, Amada's head and striking dark hair was captured as she walked with Gosling to their seats.
In several other photos, their faces were blurred for privacy, but their outfits were visible. The younger sister wore a yellow floral ensemble, while Esmeralda donned a white sweatshirt with an American flag and the Olympics logo.
In an interview last April with Mens Health, the Barbie star shared that he is guided by Mendes and their daughters. "It always comes back to family first. I don't think I'll regret anything professionally, but I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first," he said.
Elsewhere in the interview, he shared with Men's Health that he has steered away from taking roles that may be considered too physically demanding or psychologically twisted in nature to protect his family.
"The decisions I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first, "Gosling noted.
