Actor Jon Voight has criticized Vice President Kamala Harris in a video posted online and used the opportunity to once again throw his support behind Donald Trump, saying the current election cycle is "the war of our lifetime."
Voight, father of Angelina Jolie, has been a vocal supporter of Trump over the past several years, including during the former president's run-up to the 2024 race. Harris became a late entrant after President Joe Biden announced in July that he would not be seeking reelection, following weeks of pressure from within his own party and from key Democratic donors to step down amid concerns over his age and mental acuity.
In the video posted to X (formerly Twitter) that he captioned "Civil War," Voight expressed his disapproval of Harris, saying "we the people are in trouble" if she wins the election. He encouraged those watching his video to "stop this crime that is happening."
At the time of writing, the video had been viewed over 157,000 times.
Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Voight, Trump and Harris for comment on Tuesday.
"It's a war crime that Obama is directing and Kamala Harris will be the cackling hyena that just listens and repeats. If we don't stop this horror, you my friends will have the biggest horror that you will not know how to end," he said in the video with an American flag behind him.
"We must all see this truth, become one with this understanding that God will guide us with words of wisdom that we may understand that Donald Trump will make any sacrifice to save America.
"We the people are in danger and we must vote for President Trump as he will save this nation and the left are all afraid of his strength because he is only for the people. He's not for the power, the greed, the lies or wanting to destroy one's hard-earned earnings. We must stop this madness now, our children are in danger."
The actor went on to say that the left is trying to take away people's children and "turn them into non-binaries." Non-binary is a term used to describe people whose gender identity is not exclusively male or female.
He continued: "You all on the left, the ones who are my peers that preach—you all know who you are—what have you all learned in this life? Have you learned the lessons that will bring you to the higher place of eternity?
"This is now all your lessons, for each one that votes against Trump, this will be among the worst crimes that you'll see in your lives. And you know why? This nation has criminals killing your child, father, brother, friend, you, because of the left mentality allowing this border to be open.
"The ones who are on the left who fight against Trump will pay a price for the injustice of lies that are Kamala Harris and Obama. And all of you who think this is the greatest economy, you will find that your life will sink into a hole of darkness and the freedom we all once had will be burned in the dark plague of the darkest time in history like the destruction of the civil war."
Voight concluded the video by sharing his hope that both God and Trump will bring America back together.
He said: "God bless America and he will protect our nation against this evil left and Donald Trump will make America great again. Much love to him. Much love."
This isn't the first time that Voight has shared his support for the former president. In 2022, he uploaded a video to social media in which he predicted that Trump would return to the White House next election.
"We're in danger of a third world war," he warned. "Can you not see the lie? Wake up ... It's a dark web. A dark world. But not for long. A change is coming."
"A new light will emerge. The one president who understood truths ... Trump will return to the presidency. Allow Trump to rebuild our soil and our land so we can rise to our glory," Voight added.
Voight also endorsed Trump in 2016 and 2020 and the actor shared a video on X following the July 13 assassination attempt against the former president.
"They can't take down the truth. President Trump won't give up. He'll keep rising and help us to rise with him," Voight said in the video.
Voight has shared a number of other videos on X showing support of Trump, including one on May 31 in which he criticized Biden and said: "We must vote for truths, trust, honor, safety, love, respect and we must destroy these animals."
