Following her much-publicized release from prison last year, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is continuing to live her best life. Since announcing her pregnancy back in July, Blanchard has received an outpour of support from her followers, who have been tuned in for updates.

Blanchard took to Instagram Thursday, August 8, to share an update on her pregnancy. In a photo carousel on her Instagram page, Blanchard is seen in a Walmart store, holding an avocado by her stomach, symbolizing a milestone in her pregnancy journey.

"I'm 16 weeks and our little one is the size of an avocado! 🥑," Blanchard wrote in the post's caption. "I love watching my baby bump grow."

While Blanchard appears to be elated, this journey hasn't been easy. Before announcing her pregnancy, Blanchard filed for divorce from her husband Ryan Anderson back in March. She later began dating Ken Urker, to whom she was previously engaged before marrying Anderson.

In an interview with People, Blanchard said that for the sake of her baby, she and Urker plan to stay together for the long run and foster a healthy environment for their growing family.

"I'm not going to say that I think that a baby will help a marriage or a relationship, because obviously there's the added stress. I know that realistically, there's going to be arguments too," Blanchard said. "But [Ken and I] both come from divorced parents and one thing we absolutely agreed on from day one, even back when we were dating in 2017, is that when we have a child, we will stick together for the long haul. This is a forever thing because we don't want our child to grow up in a broken home."

Blanchard was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy via her mother. She served seven years in prison after confessing in 2016 to convincing her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to kill her abusive mother.

As a result of her experience, Blanchard has been able to reflect on the type of mother she would like to be.

"I want to be kind, that my kids come to me for any kind of advice, just like my stepmother," said Blanchard. "I have seen how she has parented her children — and I think she's a kick-ass mom. She's supportive and not overbearing. She lets her kids find their dreams while also being able to pick up the pieces when those dreams fall apart sometimes — so that's kind of the mantra I want to live by."
