Ever think a pop concert could turn into a thriller? Sabrina Carpenter experienced just that during her performance at San Francisco's Outside Lands music festival.

The incident unfolded on Saturday, August 10, while the 25-year-old "Espresso" singer was lighting up the stage — quite literally — with fireworks intended to dazzle the audience. Engaged in a dance with her crew, she encouraged the crowd to cheer for the performance. However, as she moved towards the back of the stage, a sudden explosion of pyrotechnics caught her off guard.

Captured on camera by a fan and shared on X (formerly Twitter), Carpenter can be seen reacting with a scream, running from the sparking fireworks that had erupted too close for comfort. Thankfully, she was unharmed and quickly regained her composure. Not surprisingly, it didn't take long for fans to chime in with their reactions in the comments section.

"I'd be scared too ngl 😭😭," one person said.

"HELPP POOR SABRINA," exclaimed another.

"pyro is so scary 😭 michael jackson's hair was literally burnt off," pointed out a third.

Apart from this fleeting scare, the night was flawless. The pop sensation shone in a glittery powder blue dress paired with matching boots, adding just the right amount of sparkle to her performance. The evening was further highlighted by a surprise duet with Kacey Musgraves, where they performed Nancy Sinatra's iconic "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'."

Reflecting on the night and her ongoing tour, the former Disney Channel star took to social media to express her gratitude. "Thank you to everyone who came," she wrote on Sunday, August 11 via Instagram. "Special thank you to the angel that is @spaceykacey for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me :') and thank you to my whole team and crew. all the talented people who made this show happen on and off stage, i love you all so much."

Carpenter is currently in the midst of her Short n' Sweet tour, which runs through 2025. This tour promotes her forthcoming sixth album, also titled Short n' Sweet, set to drop on August 23.
