While the 2024 Paris Olympic Games may have wrapped, these past two weeks won't soon be forgotten. From the beginning to the end, viewers witnessed history in the making, notably with Simone Biles becoming the most decorated US gymnast of all time. Equally as stunned by Biles, 27, is actor Tom Cruise, who delivered a stellar performance at the Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday, August 11.

During his theatrical performance, in which Cruise, 62, down from the top of the stadium to the stage, Biles handed Cruise the Olympic flag upon his landing. After the ceremony, Biles took to Instagram to share some photos from the event.

"I haven't found the right words to describe my olympic experience," said Biles in the post's caption. "It's been a whirlwind... but I do know, I'll be forever grateful to represent the united states."

Cruise sent some kind words to Biles in the post's comments, letting her know that he was in awe of her and her skills on the floor and beam. Like many viewers, Cruise was invested in watching Biles thrive throughout the course of the Olympics.

"Simone, it was an absolute honor to receive the Olympic flag from you this weekend," Cruise said. "Your artistry is one-of-a-kind. Witnessing your dedication to your craft first-hand over the past several weeks has been a true pleasure!"

Biles returned home with four new medals, bringing her total up to 11. And during the Olympics, she made it clear she's not worried about what's next, as she's currently soaking up the moment.

Upon her return back to the States, Biles shared a selfie on her Instagram story from the comfort of her own bed, sharing that she's "never been so happy."

For now, it's safe to assume the only thing on Biles' mind is some well-deserved R&R.
