Collin Gosselin blames his mother for his estranged relationship with his siblings.

The 20-year-old son of Jon Gosselin and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin opened up about the family drama in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, published on Tuesday, August 13. "I love my siblings very, very much. I would never hurt them," he said.

"I would never trash their names in the media," he told the publication, adding, "But what I do believe is that my mother's behind things they say in the media. She's behind their opinion of me. I think if we knew each other today, we'd be very good friends."

Collin says he has not had contact with twin siblings Cara and Madelyn, 23, or his other sextuplets, Leah, Alexis, Aaden, or Joel, 20, since he was put into an institution by his mother in 2016. "I didn't know it was goodbye," he said. Since leaving the institution in 2018, Collin's father Jon has had sole custody of him.

His mother has previously spoken out about why she sent Collin away, posting a statement on Instagram in 2023. "My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years. For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment," she wrote.

Jon, on the other hand, has refuted his ex-wife's claims about their son's diagnosis. Speaking with DailyMailTV in 2019, Jon said, "Other than ADHD, which is extremely common, Collin has never been diagnosed with any known medical condition, there's nothing wrong with him."

Though he does not have contact with his mother, he did give ET a message for her, saying, "I would tell my mom to pursue the truth. I just want it to stop. I don't want this battle anymore." The only sibling Collin has a relationship with is his sister Hannah, 20, who lives with him and his father, Jon, 47.

Collin told the publication that he plans to stay with his father through his time at college. He plans to study finance at Penn State after being discharged from the marines due to his history being institutionalized.

Collin also spoke about the possibility of doing reality TV again in the future, saying, "I don't know as a full-time thing, but I think I might as well use that name, use the history of it, and just return to it."

The family was first thrust into the spotlight after appearing in a 2005 Discovery Health special called Surviving Sextuplets and Twins, which was followed by another called Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later. That led to their popular TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8.
