Just over a month after Shannen Doherty's passing, her mother, Rosa Doherty, is determined to keep the legacy of her beloved daughter alive.

On Wednesday, August 14, Rosa expressed gratitude on Shannen's Let's Be Clear podcast for the overwhelming support and love from fans while revealing her commitment to continuing her daughter's work. "I'm going to do my best to keep her wishes alive because that's what she wanted me to do," Rosa shared during the episode. "Of course, I'm not her. I could never be her. I'm not as well-spoken as she was, but I'm here for all of you."

The 76-year-old mentioned how the podcast was a project that brought her daughter immense joy and provided a source of comfort during Shannen's tough battle with stage 4 breast cancer. "It meant so much to me because I got to watch her do this when it was so special for her... And helped her so much through everything she was going through."

In the episode, which also featured the Beverly Hills 90210 actress's close friend Anne Marie Kortright, Rosa spoke about the outpouring of love she's encountered since her daughter's death. While she appreciates the love, she has one rule when meeting fans – "I always say, 'You can hug me, but no tears, please. If you cry, I'll cry, and I won't be able to stop.'" Rosa also emphasized her desire to carry on Shannen's spirit of love and compassion. "Her legacy is the love she showed everyone, even those she never met. I want to stay connected with all of you and keep spreading the love that Shannen had."

Shannen, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, went into remission in 2017 but the disease unfortunately resurfaced with a vengeance in 2020. After a tough four-year battle, she passed away on July 13, 2024 at the age of 53.
