Travis Kelce took a bit of a style risk with his most recent haircut – and Taylor Swift fans are split over the look.
The 34-year-old tight end's relationship with Swift has rocketed the already-popular Chiefs player to super stardom and has put him under the scrutiny of a whole new demographic.
After sporting a buzz cut that became a viral sensation, according to the New York Times, he unveiled a new, longer hairstyle with a shaved undercut and a thick mustache.
Some users on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram have complimented the look, which Patrick Mahomes says Swift herself was instrumental in developing. "I've been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it," Mahomes, 28, said on SiriusXM NFL on Tuesday, August 13.
X has been abuzz with fans who love the look. A Kelce fan account posted pictures with the simple caption "The hair!!!" followed by a melting smiley face emoji. Many fans commented on how handsome he looked. "I can't wait to see it styled," one wrote.
Not all the fan reactions have been favorable, however. One X user called Kelce's look "the worst haircut in America" and compared it to Jim Carey's Dumb and Dumber wig.
Another refused to believe that Swift liked the 'do at all. "Taylor says she likes it she LYING LIKE A RUG."
One X user was more polite about their distaste. "I think I like the close cropped hair better, not that my opinion matters lol," they wrote under the aforementioned Kelce fan page post.
Time will tell if the new version of "the Travis Kelce Haircut" will sweep barber shops across the nation.
