Star of The West Wing, Bradley Whitford, has condemned Cheryl Hines and her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. online—with his remarks quickly going viral.

The Josh Lyman actor spoke out against the couple on X, formerly Twitter, after RFK Jr. dropped out of the presidential race last week.

The 64-year-old challenged the Curb Your Enthusiasm actress, 58, for "staying silent" as her spouse, 70, endorsed former President Donald Trump in his attempt for re-election.

He branded the son of RFK a "lunatic" and Trump an "adjudicated rapist" in the Saturday post to his 483,000 followers.

Whitford's comment were in reply to a Kamala HQ post the day before, which read: "Trump: For 52 years, from the beginning of Roe v. Wade, people wanted to get it out. Many presidents tried and were unable. I want to thank the justices who overturned Roe."

He shared, writing: "Hey @CherylHines, way to stay silent while your lunatic husband throws his support behind the adjudicated rapist who brags about stripping women of their fundamental rights.

"Gutsy. Great example for the kids. Profile in courage."

Newsweek has contacted representatives for Bradley Whitford, Cheryl Hines and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. via email for comment on Monday.

Trump has faced a number of sexual misconduct accusations over the years and in 2023, a jury found him liable for sexually abusing columnist Elizabeth Jean Carroll in the mid-1990s.

Meanwhile, Hines spoke out shortly after RFK Jr., who she wed in 2014, dropped out of the presidential race, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "I deeply respect the decision Bobby made to run on the principle of unity.

"Over the last year and a half, I have met some extraordinary people from all parties—Democrats, Republicans and independents.

"It's been my experience that the vast majority of all parties are truly good people who want the best for our country and for each other. It has been an eye-opening, transformative and endearing journey."

Hines has previously criticized Trump, once branding his comments about then-rival Ted Cruz's wife "disrespectful."

She said to the aforementioned publication: "But these politicians are Teflon. They're like nobody I've ever seen. I think back to Trump. Remember the early days of Trump when he insulted Ted Cruz's wife about her looks?

"That's so ridiculous and disrespectful that he would say something disrespectful about Ted Cruz's wife. She has nothing to do with any of this. And I'm sure Ted Cruz will never forget that."
