Larry, 51, captured their fun-filled weekend in a series of Instagram posts which he posted on Monday, August 26. His roundup showed off Dannielynn's impressive cosplay efforts, writing in the caption, "Dannielynn embraced the spirit of the convention by donning three distinct 'Kamen Rider' costumes." Birkhead went on to describe the convention as an early birthday bash for Dannielynn, who will officially turn 18 on September 6. "This is the first stop and pre-celebration for Dannielynn's upcoming birthday celebration! The countdown begins now!" he wrote.

In the photos, the late model's daughter can be seen beaming as she interacted with her favorite actors and fellow fans. Her father noted how excited Dannielynn was to meet some of her "favorite actors from Japanese live-action television."

Fans of Smith loved seeing the extremeley rare photos of her nearly-adult daughter, leaving comments like "Dannielynn you are as beautiful as your mother," and "Looking just like her mama ❤️❤️."

Others commented on the wonderful job Larry has done raising his daughter. "Larry, great job raising your beautiful daughter. I love the fact that you keep her close but give her space too. Your an amazing father," noted one fan. Another said, "I love how involved and supportive you are Larry."

The photographer has been notably private about his daughter's life, with fans only seeing the occasional glimpse at Dannielynne at the father-daughter duo's yearly outing at the Kentucky Derby or via Larry's rare shots of their adventures together on his Instagram account. Back in May, Larry and Dannielynn attended the Kentucky Derby, where Dannielynn's outfit paid homage to her beloved "Kamen Rider" character, Hino Eiji, according to Larry's Instagram post.

Smith passed away on February 8, 2007 at the age of 39, just five months after the birth of Dannielynn. Her death was attributed to an accidental overdose of prescription medications. Smith's son, Daniel Wayne Smith, also passed away three months after his sister's birth at the age of 20 years old.
