Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie have both been notably absent from their Today show duties this week, with Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones filling in for them.

Their absence was addressed on the Thursday, August 29 show, where Melvin mentioned that the co-hosts were off, telling the audience at the beginning of the show that "Hoda and Savannah are off to spend time with their families."

Guthrie, 52, has been pretty active on social media the past week, giving fans a glimpse into her family vacation via an Instagram Reel posted on Monday, August 25. "Holding onto the last of summer," she captioned the video, which had an "Out of office" sticker on it as well.

Fans loved the inside look at the TV host's personal life. "Enjoy your family time! You deserve it...," said one fan, while another noted, "That's a nice family to spend your summertime off from The TODAY Show."

Earlier in the month viewers also noticed Guthrie's absence on the show, this time for her daughter Vale's 10th birthday. The mom of two seemingly stayed home from work to make the day special for her daughter, whom she shares along with son Charley, 7, with husband Michael Feldman. Guthrie didn't keep her joy to herself; she shared the celebration on Instagram, posting a series of photos and a touching message: "Ten years of this magical girl - my whole heart and soul. Happy birthday dearest Vale!"

Kotb, meanwhile, has seemingly enjoyed her week off away from social media. She also recently celebrated an important birthday – her own 60th birthday with her daughters, Haley, 7, and Hope, 4, in Upstate New York. Although her sister Hala couldn't attend due to illness, Kotb shared the festivities on social media with some sweet photos."Great bday morning!! Lucky me xoxoxo," Kotb captioned the photos, which included ones of her opening presents from her family along with birthday decorations.

The two beloved anchors should be back to their usual seats on the show Tuesday, September 3.
