Despite several controversies, Oscar-winner Woody Allen remains one of the most prolific directors working today. While actors and actresses — including Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, and Timothée Chalamet — who have chosen to work with Allen, 88, following numerous sexual assault allegations have received much backlash, his ex-wife, Mia Farrow, has revealed how she feels about their choices.

In an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, which aired Sunday, September 1, Mia, 79, says that she is able to separate Allen's art from his actions, and holds no ill will toward actors who choose to work with him.

"I complete understand if an actor decides to work with him," she said. "I'm not one who'd say, 'Oh, they shouldn't.' "

Mia and Allen were in a relationship from 1980 to 1992, and during that time, Mia starred in 13 of his movies. Following their split, Allen began dating and later married Farrow's adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Another one of Mia's daughters, Dylan, accused Allen of molesting her when she was 7 years old. Accusations against Allen came to light in the early '90s, when Allen and Mia were in a custody battle over Dylan, and sons Moses and Ronan Farrow. Allen was never formally charged.

In recent years, several of Allen's past collaborators have expressed regret for working with the director, including Stone, Drew Barrymore, Colin Firth, and Greta Gerwig.

Chalamet and Rebecca Hall, both of whom worked with Allen on 2018's A Rainy Day In New York, donated their salaries earned on the film to Time's Up.

Back in 2021, Allen's controversies were the subject of an HBO docuseries Allen v. Farrow, in which, Mia expressed regret for bringing Allen around her family.

"That's the great regret of my life, that I wasn't perceptive enough. It's my fault," Mia said in the docuseries. "I brought this guy into my family. There's nothing I can do to take that away."

Allen's last feature film was 2023's Coup De Chance. Mia is currently starring in The Roommate on Broadway, alongside Patti Lupone.
