Benny Blanco may have given some fans a jump scare with his Instagram Story on Wednesday, September 4.
The American record producer, 36, re-shared an Instagram post by his pedicurist, Tahvya, which featured a close-up shot of his toes. "❣️ Persian rugs ❣️ Handpainted @itsbennyblanco," Tahvya captioned the two images of Blanco's toes painted to look like Persian rugs — complete with carpet fringe added to the tips of his nails.
Fans flooded the comments of @nailedbytav to celebrate her creativity, with one quipping, "Hahahaha I knew this would be Benny's toes lmao 😂." However, the mood was a bit different when the image was re-shared on an account not dedicated to sharing nail designs.
"This should've been marked as sensitive content," one person posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), while another remarked, "Couldn't you just shave your toes for the close-up pic? 😩 Benny please work with me here, I'm trying! 😅😂."
Many commented on the hairiness of Blanco's feet, calling for the images to be deleted. Some of the harsher comments referred to Blanco's relationship with Selena Gomez, with one person posting, "Selena needs to leave him asap and I'm not playing wtf is this."
The couple, who were first linked in December 2023, have recently been surrounded by engagement speculation. Back in August 2024, Gomez, 32, shared a mirror selfie to her Instagram Story that had fans guessing.
In the selfie, in which Blanco can be seen standing behind her, facing away, the Only Murders in the Building star had some pink heart emojis covering her left hand. Many fans took that as Gomez "announcing she's engaged by intentionally trying not to announce that she's engaged."
When Gomez sported a gold ring on her ring finger during an outing in Los Angeles on August 29, many people again speculated that she was engaged. Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that the former Disney Channel star followed CMG Events — a wedding planning agency — on Instagram.
As of yet, neither Blanco nor Gomez have issued any statements regarding the rumors.
