Travis Kelce's secret to peak performance on game day and the surprising meal he swears by before he heads out on the field may surprise fans.

Kelce's pre-game meal of choice? French toast. No protein packed dinner or Kansas City barbeque for this NFL player. Instead, Kelce, 34, has been vocal about his love for this classic breakfast dish. "I love BBQ, but every pregame meal has been French toast and strawberries since I've been on the Chiefs," he previously told InsideHook.

For Kelce, French toast is more than just a breakfast — it's a crucial part of his game day strategy. He previously shared with Men's Journal that he opts for "a breakfast-type meal, since many of our games are from 12 to 4 in the afternoon." As the Chiefs prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens at 8 p.m. E.T. Thursday, September 5, fans are left wondering if Kelce will stick to his beloved morning ritual.

Kelce's breakfast routine has also received a special touch from his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. During a press conference back in June, Kelce acknowledged Swift's cooking skills, specifically in the breakfast department, when dodging a question asked by a reporter regarding what they like to cook together. "Taylor makes a fantastic Pop-Tart and cinnamon roll," he said of Swift, also 34.

This inquiry likely stemmed from a video Swift posted in April, featuring a montage set to her lead single from The Tortured Poets Department. The video included behind-the-scenes moments from her Eras Tour rehearsal as well as a charming clip of the couple cooking together, with Travis planting a sweet kiss on the 14-time Grammy winner's cheek.

The "Fortnight" singer is anticipated to make an appearance at the Chiefs and Ravens game, according to The Athletic, as she just wrapped up the European leg of her Eras Tour and is back in the U.S. The security team in Kansas City is bracing for the increased attention Swift's presence will bring, and while she won't be participating in the game, the pop star is expected to become a major talking point during the season opener.
