The family that slays together, stays together. David Banda, son of pop legend Madonna, made his New York Fashion Week debut this Sunday, September 8.
David, 18, took to the runway during Off-White's spring 2025 collection fashion show. He dazzled in a multi-colored plaid vest, pleated pants and black flip-flops, and completed his ensemble with silver statement earrings and black finger gloves.
In attendance to cheer on her son was Madonna, 66 — who arrived to the Off-White afterparty dressed in cargo-style jeans, a striped long-sleeve top and sunglasses.
Through her music, performances, and her game-changing visuals, Madonna has become a staple in fashion. And she believes she's passed on her penchant for artistry to David. In an interview with Vogue from 2019, Madonna said out of all of her children, David is the most similar to her.
"What he has more than anything is focus and determination," Madonna said of David, who was 13 years old at the time. "I'm pretty sure he got it from me. He's the one I have the most in common with. I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far. Let's see what happens – it's still early days for everyone."
It appears David has since maintained his love for the arts. In a 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Madonna revealed that David has a flair for fashion.
"He can put on any outfit and look swag as you know what," Madonna said. "It's really irritating. He wears my clothes and looks better in them. He can even wear a dress and look butch."
The icon herself is raising a new generation of icons, and fans are eagerly anticipating more looks.
