The parents of TV personality Heather Rae El Moussa have been evacuated twice as a wildfire scorches its way across Southern California.

Amid hot and dry weather conditions, the Line Fire has swept through Southern California since last week, forcing the evacuation of over 6,000 residents and threatening thousands of homes and businesses.

As of Tuesday, the fire had scorched nearly 33,000 acres near the San Bernardino National Forest, with firefighters battling triple-digit temperatures and challenging terrain. The fire has burned so intensely that it created its own weather systems, forming clouds capable of producing gusty winds and lightning.

Mandatory evacuations were issued Saturday evening for several areas, including Running Springs and Arrowbear Lake. Nearly 5,000 homes are currently under evacuation orders, with an additional 17,000 homes under warnings, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

El Moussa, who appeared on the first seven seasons of Netflix reality show Selling Sunset, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an update on the fire as it hit her hometown of Running Springs in the San Bernardino Mountains.

"The fire is 0% contained," she wrote. "My parents were evacuated a second time from where they were staying. It's a mess up in my little town and the fire is spreading like crazy. Praying for everyone's safety & all the animals."

Several hours later, she said in a follow-up Instagram Story post: "Please pray for my little home town of Running [Springs]. The fire is surrounding. My heart is so sad."

In February 2023, El Moussa—who stars alongside her husband, Tarek El Moussa, on HGTV show The Flipping El Moussas—shared on Instagram how extreme weather conditions in her hometown prevented her parents from visiting her.

"[My] parents were supposed to be with us but the weather in CA has been insane so they're fully snowed in at our Running Springs house and can't even leave the house if they tried because of how unsafe the roads are," she wrote at the time.

California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a state of emergency for San Bernardino County on Saturday, unlocking additional state resources and personnel to assist firefighters and securing federal assistance to support the response to the Line Fire.

"I thank President [Joe] Biden for his swift approval of support for the work of our firefighters and first responders battling this fire and protecting local communities. It's critical that residents in the impacted areas remain vigilant and prepare to evacuate immediately if called for by local authorities," the governor said in a statement.

The Line Fire is the largest of three blazes currently ravaging California.

On Monday, firefighters used bulldozers, helicopters and airplanes to control a rapidly spreading blaze that broke out near a remote-controlled airplane airport in Orange County. Dubbed the Airport Fire, the blaze is thought to have been sparked unintentionally by heavy equipment being operated by an Orange County public works crew who were moving boulders.

The blaze grew rapidly to over 5,400 acres in eight hours. Around 1,000 personnel have been deployed to fight the fire, including helicopters and aircraft.

Firefighters are also battling the Bridge Fire in the Angeles National Forest. As of Tuesday, it remains 0 percent contained. On Tuesday, the blaze surpassed 34,000 acres.
