Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos let their tongues do the talking this morning.
On the Wednesday, September 11 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Ripa, 53, decided to take measurements of her hubby's tongue after learning that Brittany Lacayo, a lawyer based in Houston, has "set the Guinness World Record for the widest female tongue in the world."
A photo of Lacayo's tongue was subsequently displayed on screen. "Wow, that is wide," Consuelos, 53, exclaimed. While the graphic picture perhaps shocked some audience members, the mom of three warned them not to "yuck [Lacayo's] yum" before asking, "I wonder if she has more taste buds?" Consuelos then joked about how Lacayo would be well-liked on "wikiTongue" — if such a thing existed.
After sharing the measurements of the record-holder's tongue — which is 7.90 centimeters (3.11 inches) wide — Ripa confessed to her husband that she'd "like to measure" his own tongue. Consuelos instantly agreed.
Ripa told her co-host to "flatten it out [his tongue] " before going in with a wooden ruler. The actress admitted it was difficult to measure precisely. "Yeah, it's hard with a ruler. I was thinking measuring tape," she noted.
It looks like the Riverdale alum measures up quite well compared to the female record holder, as Ripa announced his tongue width was about three inches. "Wow," Consuelos remarked, as the studio audience clapped for his impressive measurements.
Looking at the dramatic photo of Lacayo's tongue, Consuelos couldn't help but be in awe himself. "3.11 [inches]. That's a wide tongue," he observed, before quipping: "Well, good for you." After a few moments of silence — and after taking in the potential double entendres throughout their discussion — both Ripa and Consuelos laughed.
The power couple, who wed in 1996 after co-starring in All My Children, share three children of their own: sons Joaquin, 21, and Michael, 27, and daughter Lola, 23.

On Tuesday, September 10, Ripa outed Consuelos for taking one of their sons to Hooters for a playdate when he was a kid. Consuelos, for his part, explained that it was the father of their son's friend who chose the venue. The couple have also shared past stories about the times their kids have walked in on them having sex.
It's evident that this will not be the last time viewers get some interesting segments from Live With Kelly and Mark.
