Teen Mom's Amber Portwood has some words for internet theorists, who accused her of murdering her former fiancé, Gary Wayt (not to be confused with Gary Shirley, her ex-boyfriend, with whom she shares daughter Leah).
Back in June, Wayt, 39, was reported missing out in a small town in North Carolina, before being located three days later. In an episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which aired Thursday, September 12, Portwood, 34, revealed how Wayt's disappearance affected her.
"I was stable," Portwood said to the show's executive producer, Kiki Malone, before going to a psychiatry appointment. "Right now, this is the first time in years in my life — I am 34 — I am not f**king right because a man put a ring on my finger. You broke me, because we were actually in love."
Portwood continued, saying Wayt "left for no reason" and "ruined something so f**king good." She also had some words for internet trolls, who shared theories online implying that Portwood murdered Wayt.
"Why am I getting persecuted? 'We know Amber killed him,'" she said, paraphrasing theories that circulated social media. "I had to deal with that. Do you know how that feels when people are calling you a murderer to your f**king fiancé?"
She continued, saying, "They were calling me a murderer. They said I f**king killed him."
Portwood and Wayt first started dating in late 2023, according to a report from Us Weekly. By June, the couple was engaged, but broke off the engagement just weeks later.
Two months after breaking off their engagement, Wayt had reportedly gotten engaged to a new woman whose identity has not yet been revealed. Portwood offered her congratulations to the couple in a report to Us Weekly.
