When you've been married for as long as Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos — since 1996, to be precise — it's important to keep trying new things, like travel, to keep the spark alive.

While discussing a newly-released list of the most romantic cities in the world, the LIVE with Kelly and Mark co-hosts, both 53, revealed that one of their romantic, no-kids getaways led to the conception of their third child.

"Our son's nickname is 'Made in Montreal,'" announced Consuelos cheekily, drawing laughs from the studio audience.

Ripa had just announced that 11% of poll participants had said that New York City — where the show is filmed — was the most romantic city in the world. Consuelos agreed that New York is very romantic, but felt the need to add that Montreal was also a "very good city" after announcing that one of their children was "made" there.

Not looking up from her notes, Ripa deadpanned, "Won't tell you which one, but he's our youngest," causing her husband to erupt into laughter. "Shout out to Montreal," she continued as the crowd whooped.

Consuelos and Ripa are parents to three children, Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21. When the couple was discussing a previous family vacation to Hawaii, Ripa had said that it was "beautiful and exhausting." Consuelos agreed, saying that "when you're with a bunch of kids, the last thing you're thinking about is making more kids."

Ripa and Consuelos often talk about their marriage, sex life, and family on the show since the Riverdale actor joined his wife as co-host in 2023. They've covered topics like the size of Consuelos's tongue, kissing soccer fans, and even play dates at Hooter's.

They went on to reveal that for one of their wedding anniversaries, Consuelos's parents had offered to watch Michael and Lola so they could take a trip together, and Montreal was the destination. "We thought, we'll go away for two days. What could possibly happen?" joked Ripa. Apparently, what could happen was... Joaquin.
