Country music legend Dolly Parton revealed details about upcoming projects, including a new album, a Broadway play and a cookbook during her visit to The View on Tuesday.

Parton is developing an upcoming musical titled Hello, I'm Dolly, about her life, which will hit the Broadway stage in 2026. When looking back over her life and timeless career, she describes it as emotional.

"It takes you to places you really didn't want to go back to, but it made you remember things that you really should have been thinking about," Parton said. "It's very emotional."

The musical follows Parton from when she was a little girl living in the Smoky Mountains up until now.

The country star and her sister Rachel Parton George also charmed viewers on The View as they unveiled their new cookbook, Good Lookin Cookin.

Growing up in a family of twelve, Parton eagerly anticipated dinner time, where the table was always a lively center of activity.

"At home, food was always the best, and we put a whole bunch of it into this book," Parton said. "We just all loved singing, and we liked singing in the kitchen."

The sister duo highlight dishes like chocolate pie with meringue, fried green tomatoes with ranch dressing, strawberry shortcake and cornbread dressing in their new book. Parton called meatloaf her favorite meal, while George, with her sweet tooth, declared strawberry shortcake as hers.

When the sisters aren't busy in the kitchen, they're focused on working on Parton's upcoming album, Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA. This family-centered project showcases songs performed by Dolly's immediate and extended family, spanning multiple generations.

George described working with all their relatives as a "great treat."

"We went back in our family history, and we learned things that some of us didn't know, and then Dolly was able to sing with a lot of our relatives who jumped in," George said. "It really turned out great and it was keeping us all together."

The album is accompanied by a four-part docuseries, set for release in 2025. It will feature concert performances filmed at Knoxville's historic Bijou Theater, showcasing Parton and her family from the record.

"We're very proud of it," Parton said. "It traces our musical heritage back to the 1800s and Rachel and I have a song on that album that she wrote. She's a great singer and writer and a great guitar player."
