Country singer Jelly Roll has had an incredible breakthrough as an artist over the past few years, and his star continues to rise.

The "I Am Not Okay" hitmaker — whose real name is Jason DeFord — is set to perform on Saturday Night Live later this month on the show's 50th season premiere — and he can't quite believe it.

The announcement was made Wednesday, September 18, via SNL's social media accounts, and later, Jelly, 39, took to his personal X (formerly Twitter) account to express his happiness over the news.

"I'm about to cry," Jelly said. "The premiere of the 50th season of SNL."

An hour after the fact, Jelly once again shared that he was still reeling over the big milestone.

"Saturday Night Live yall- I can't quit thinking about it lol," he said.

Equally as excited over the news was Jelly's wife, Bunnie XO, who joined in her husband's joy via her Instagram Story. "Daddy is going SNL!!!!," she wrote.

Actress Jean Smart — who just won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for her performance on Hacks for the third time — will host the premiere of SNL's 50th season. Jelly himself was also present at the Emmys ceremony on Sunday, September 15, where he performed "I Am Not Okay" during the show's in memoriam segment.

SNL's 50th season has a promising line-up this season, with comedian Nate Bargatze set to host and Coldplay set to perform on the October 5 show. Ariana Grande will host the October 12 show, and Stevie Nicks will serve as the episode's musical guest. Michael Keaton — who recently changed his stage name to Michael Keaton Douglas — will host SNL on October 19, with Billie Eilish performing as the musical guest. The final host-musical guest combo revealed on Wednesday was John Mulaney and Chappell Roan.

Fans can tune into the season premiere of SNL on Saturday, September 28 on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET, or stream it live on Peacock.
