Who says a little gossip can't be fun? Hoda Kotb found herself at the center of romance rumors with Kevin Costner, and her reaction? Pure gold.

On the Wednesday, July 9 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, a caller asked the journalist, 59, how she felt about fans "shipping" her with Costner, 69, after their interview on Today last month.

Laughing, Kotb looked genuinely stunned as she turned to her co-host Savannah Guthrie. "Wait, what? That's a new one," she chuckled, clearly amused by the unexpected matchmaking. But she didn't dismiss the playful notion right off the bat. Instead, the TV personality teased, "Well, if the viewers want it..." flashing the camera a knowing look that sent the audience into a frenzy of cheers and laughter. "Give the people what they want," Guthrie, 52, added.

The buzz didn't stop there. The next morning on Today With Hoda and Jenna, Kotb's co-anchor, Jenna Bush Hager, reignited the conversation. "I stayed up late to watch and while I was watching I saw that a viewer asked you about a recent interview and this kind of, yeah, lit my pants on fire," said the New York Times bestselling author, 42, before playing a snippet of what transpired the night before.

"Umm okay first of all, I didn't know about all of this that was going on behind my back," Bush Hager joked. "I mean, I didn't know you and Kevin were 'shipping,' I didn't even know what 'shipping' meant." The co-host went on to explain that shipping "is when you are hoping people get into a relationship."

The team at Today also couldn't resist diving into the fun, rolling a slow-motion montage of Kotb and Costner, their on-air chemistry set to a swoon-worthy soundtrack. Watching the edit, Kotb couldn't help but laugh. "Y'all are ridiculous," she said.

So, will romance bloom between Kotb and the Golden Globe winner? Fans will just have to stay tuned to see what unfolds.
