College gymnast and social media star Livvy Dunne may not be on the Olympic team, but she's still turning up in Paris to show off her enthusiasm for the sport and Team U.S.A. in general. She recently posted a photo of herself from a beach volleyball game, appropriately decked out in an American flag sweater. The caption joked, "Pardon my French..."

In addition to her photo from the Olympic stands, Dunne, 21, shared photos of the tastes and sights of her Parisian adventure on Wednesday, July 31. The post included pictures of the gymnast on a classic Parisian-style balcony, snaps of decadent French food and coffee, and a video in front of a sparkling Eiffel Tower.

Dunne has had an impressive career as a college gymnast, and has built on her success to garner the largest social media following among all N.C.A.A. athletes. She attends Louisiana State University and was on the U.S. National Team for one event in 2017. Despite her popularity and great success, however, her scores are not in the same echelon as the likes of Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezley Rivera. To the surprise of many casual gymnastics fans, she was not a contender for the U.S.A. Olympic team.

Though Dunne's gymnastics feats are at the elite level, her greatest success may be her social media following and brand deals. Her 10 million followers and average income of $500k per social media post has made her the highest-paid female athlete in the country, according to a 2023 Sports Illustrated article. Her project The Livvy Fund, which she created with Bayou Traditions, will help female LSU athletes land endorsement deals and elevate their personal branding. Her goal is to help female athletes gain as much recognition as male ones. By supporting female athletes at the Olympic games, she continues to bring womens' sports into the spotlight.
