There's one thing that Candace Cameron Bure has a "Full House" of, and that's Olympic medals – at least silver and bronze ones.

During an Instagram story on Sunday, August 4, per Us Magazine, the actress showed off the bronze and silver medals earned by her hockey player husband, Val Bure — and explained why he doesn't like to wear them.

"This is the silver from the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games in Japan, and this one is the bronze from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games."

The retired hockey player, 50, was less excited about the medals than his wife, however. "Because they weren't gold, Val didn't want to wear them," she said in the video. "But they are quite impressive, and I am so proud of him. We display them proudly in our home."

When it comes to the 2024 Olympics, Cameron Bure has courted controversy due to her statements about a portion of the Paris opening ceremonies. She called the drag performance, which was meant to be a tribute to the Greek god Dionysus but which many interpreted as an homage to The Last Supper, "blasphemous" and "disgusting." Her former Full House co-star, Jodi Sweetin, appeared to hit back by sharing an Instagram gallery from influencer Matt Bernstein.

While showing her husband's medals, Cameron Bure mentioned that past Olympic games have been emotionally significant to her and her family. "For the 2002 Games, Maks was 3 weeks old. I had him with me and was breast-feeding him in the stands," she said, referring to her youngest son. Her daughter's birth also coincided with the games. "I was pregnant with Natasha when they won the silver medal in Japan."

Valeri Bure was introduced to Candace Cameron in 1994 by the actress's Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, and the couple were married by 1996. They share three children, Natasha, 25, and sons Lev, 24, and Maksim, 22. The actress has been no stranger to controversy over the past few years after she ended her long-standing relationship with The Hallmark Channel over their announcement that they would make LGBTQ holiday movies. Recently, Cameron Bure has been promoting Ainsley McGregor Mysteries, a new Christian mystery movie which she stars in on Great American Pure Flix.
