As Tammy Slaton, one of the two stars of 1000-Lb. Sisters on TLC, continues in her weight loss journey, her body isn't the only thing that's changing. The reality star, 38, recently switched up her look with a soft, wavy bob, which she unveiled on TikTok.
Slaton, 38, has lost 440 pounds during the 5 seasons of her TLC show, which has followed her and her sister Amy's journey with weight loss, as well as their relationships with friends and family. Slaton's husband, Caleb Willingham, passed away in June of 2023, but Tammy has not allowed the loss to derail her.
In her TikTok video, set to Tinashe's song "Nasty," she cheerfully nodded along to the words as she displayed multiple angles on her new haircut. One shot also featured Slaton buckled into her seatbelt inside a car, something she had not been able to do prior to the surgery that helped her lose 440 pounds.
Slaton's followers were eager to cheer her on in the comments, praising her transformation.
"you look beautiful Tammy! You are an inspiration ♥️xx," wrote one fan.
Another cheered in all caps, "YESS TAMMY WE LOVE THE NEW HAIR GIRL."
A fan of 1000-Lb. Sisters shared the emotional resonance that Tammy's journey held for her. "looking lovely girlie! you are amazing. love following your journey. seeing you more at peace with yourself, shows your growth & self love. ❤"
The television star got her start online when she and her sister began posting videos on YouTube. Eventually, the videos were discovered by TLC.
Slaton's new look comes alongside her recent nomination for "Reality Queen" in The American Reality Television Awards. She already refers to herself as "Queen Tammy" on Instagram, so this acknowledgement should only help to increase her confidence. Other nominees in the category include Sister Wives star Christine Brown and Bravo's Tamra Judge, who are both extremely popular. But win or lose, at least Tammy has a new haircut to show off at the ceremony, which will take place Monday, November 18, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA.
