While the NFL season is only weeks away, the holiday season is already on people's minds. And an upcoming Hallmark movie — Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story starring Jenna Bush Hager — brings the elements of football and the holidays together. Ahead of the imminent football season, Hager, 42, has shared an update on a note she wrote to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce while on set of the movie.

Back in July, Travis' mother, Donna, urged Hager to leave a note in Travis' locker. Much of the filming for Holiday Touchdown took place at various locations in Kansas City, including Arrowhead Stadium. In the note, Hager expressed to Travis that her daughters had taken up a love of football, thanks to him. She also invited him to visit her during her hour on Today.

"Travis, you have made my girls love football! Thanks for all you do! Come see Hoda [Kotb] + me!," wrote Hager.

Hager spoked to Us Weekly in an interview published Thursday, August 15, in which she revealed what happened after she left Travis the note.

"No. Travis Kelce has not responded," Hager said. "But I'll write Mama Kelce right now."

The movie tells the story of a woman named Alana Higman (Hunter King), who plays a Chiefs superfan. Alana catches feelings for the team's director of fan engagement, Derrick (Tyler Hynes) while competing in a "Fan of the Year" contest.

Not much is known about Hager's role, however, Donna herself will make an appearance in the movie as the manager of a Kansas City barbecue restaurant called Norma & Nic's. Coincidentally, her character is also named Donna.

In addition to Donna, Hager, King, and Hynes, Holiday Touchdown will also star Ed Begley Jr., Diedrich Bader, and Wes Brown.

Holiday Touchdown will premiere during Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas 2024 celebration at a soon-to-be-announced date.
