Shania Twain's reunion with an old friend has gone viral online.

The "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" singer took to the stage at Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, over the weekend. She performed on Friday, with an additional two encore performances on Saturday and Sunday.

Twain shared a video of the reunion to Instagram, TikTok and X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday: "I came to Newfoundland & Labrador with my band Flirt some 40 years ago - it was my first ever tour of the East Coast and my first ever time away from home," she captioned the viral clip. "During that tour I met Gloria, a local girl who took care of me and showed me around and last night, all these years later, we were reunited. The hospitality and sentiment of Newfies is unmatched - thank you for, once again, showing me such a warm welcome!"

At the time of publication, the video had racked up more than 477,000 views on Instagram, more than 120,000 views on TikTok and more than 186,000 views on X.

The Grammy Award winner brought Gloria up on stage and hugged as they shared additional details about their friendship to the crowd. "This is ridiculous! I still have a Polaroid of us together," Twain said. "How many years since we've seen each other?"

"40," Gloria replied, to which the country music star said: "Forty years, yes. I'm gonna be 59 in a few days or something." Twain—whose real name is Eilleen Regina Edwards—celebrates her birthday on August 28.

"Listen, so, on these tours when you're the only girl in the band, you never meet any girls. The only girls you meet are the girls that are trying to hook up with the band," Twain said as the audience laughed. "And so it was just very odd that I met a girlfriend, someone that I connected with, who wasn't out to jump one of the guys."

When the songwriter asked Gloria where she is living, her friend said she moved back home, adding she resides in the same house that Twain stayed at many years ago.

"Gloria invited me over. I stayed at her house," Twain said, adding that "she treated me like one of the family."

She recalled Gloria taking her to the beach since she had never been in the sea before and remembered how cold it was, despite thinking the water would be warm in August.

"The funny thing is that I'm still doing exactly the same thing as I did when I met you," the "You're Still the One" singer said. "I'm still in Newfoundland on a stage singing."

Fans were quick to comment on the social-media videos, with many praising the reunion.

"What a way of showing that you have not forgotten your roots," @nancyarmas wrote via Instagram in a message. "Staying humble has been your most staple."

"You really tugged all our heart strings with this one," fellow user @jessicaahowlett added.

"That's so wonderful! I'm glad you were able to reconnect!" @paulakoala1234 posted on Twitter, while @jetblack526 commented on TikTok, "Such a beautiful story. thanks for sharing!"

Churchill Park Music Festival is a five-day festival in Canada, which spanned across two weekends. The event kicked off on August 9, with Nickelback headlining the evening and Pitbull headlining the August 10 show. Other performers included Alan Doyle, TALK, Arkells, James Barker Band and more.

Twain, who is often referred to as the "Queen of Country Pop," is a Canada native. She was born in Windsor and grew up in Timmins, Ontario.

Twain also went viral in June while performing her Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. As she sang "(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!", the ACM Award winner accidentally started singing into what appeared to be a drumstick instead of her microphone.

"Oh my God, that was hilarious!" Twain said in a video shared to her social media at the time.
