Despite the social stigma that sometimes follows cosmetic procedures, Chet Hanks, the son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, isn't the least bit embarrassed to have gotten Botox.

The star of MTV's The Surreal Life, 33, posted an Instagram story on Tuesday, July 30, encouraging followers to check out the estheticians from Beverly Hills Aesthetic Medics who helped smooth out his wrinkles. "Come to Beverly Hills, they'll get you right," he wrote in the caption. The celeb apparently had his forehead "blasted with Botox," and is letting the world know. He tagged the IG story with #noshameinmygame.

Chet, who is two years sober, has struggled since he was 16 with a severe cocaine addiction. This public showcase of self-care is a shift in his persona as he continues his journey with sobriety. In an interview on the podcast Raw Talk this June, he said that he felt "enormous pressure" growing up because his father, Tom, set such a high bar as one of America's most beloved actors. "I felt unworthy to even exist, really," he says. According to Chet, his faith is the "one big thing that made all the difference," and he says that since renewing his commitment to God, he'd been "at peace for about a year."

Chet's reality show, The Surreal Life, began airing July 23 of this year, and is sure to bring him more into the spotlight. In the past, Hanks has faced backlash for using "verbal blackface" and dismissing the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine. It appears that now, he is presenting a "fresh face" to the public.

According to USA Today, more than 265,000 men received Botox treatments in 2020, and the number is only growing. As of 2023, the hashtag #brotox had 18.5 million views on TikTok. Chet appears to be proud to join in on the trend.
