Simone Biles is no stranger to venting a little frustration when things don't go her way.

An online video shows a much younger Biles getting upset after fumbling a vault at a competition.

In the clip, a tiny Biles dressed in a purple leotard flips over the vault, but fails to stick the landing. Despite it being a highly impressive feat for a child, the mini-Biles is seen animatedly discussing things with an official before walking off with her arms folded in frustration.

Newsweek has emailed Simone Biles for comment.

The young biles might have not been impressed back then, but many social media users were.

"Legend in the making," wrote @MarkMatts.

"She's grown and and come a long way, I hardly can identify the lady above is the same Simone Biles in 2024 Olympics," said user @fopminui.

The 27-year-old began her career in gymnastics when she was just six-years-old.

Though clearly practice makes perfect, as Biles took home her seventh gold medal in the Olympics vault final on Saturday after averaging a score of 15.300. Her Yurchenko double pike maneuver is so difficult that it has never been attempted by a woman in a competition before.

The move requires a round off back handspring onto the vault and then two backward flips in pike. It was named after Soviet gymnast Natalia Yurchenko, who first performed it in 1982.

After Vera Caslavska of Czechoslovakia, who clinched golds in the 1964 and 1968 games, Biles is the second gymnast to win the vault twice.

At the Paris Games, Biles clinched an impressive three gold medals in the women's vault, the individual all-around and the team all-around finals.

She lost out on the floor medal to Brazil's Rebeca Andrade, instead taking home the silver.

However, her performance in the women's beam final took an unexpected turn when she slipped off the apparatus and finished fifth. Four of the eight finalists, including Biles and fellow USA teammate Sunisa Lee, fell off the beam while competing.

At a later press conference, she appeared to blame the "weird" atmosphere in the gymnastics arena.

"The beam final is always the most stressful. Usually we have music or background noise, whatever that may be. We do better in environments with noise going on because it feels most like practice."

"People start cheering and then people start shushing gets louder, but then they should be shushed because they're louder. It was really weird and awkward."

"We've asked several times for some music or background noise. I'm not really sure what happened there. Not our favorite, none of us liked it. Yes, it was an odd beam final."

Despite missing out on a medal in the beam, Biles now owns a staggering set of 11 Olympic medals – seven golds, two silver and two bronzes – and she has won 30 World Championships.

Not bad for a young kid who couldn't stick the landing.
