Remember the luxury handbag Simone Biles posted on her social media after her 2024 Paris Olympics performance? It turns out that the luxe bag was actually a gift.

Biles recently revealed that the Hermès bag she flaunted on her Instagram Stories was a present from her parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles. Biles playfully addressed the buzz around her new luxury accessory, stating on Threads on Wednesday, August 14 that her, "parents bought me my hermes bag 🥰, don't be mad at me, be mad at your parents."

Fans loved the iconic response, and instantly flocked to the replies. "Neither you nor they need to explain a thing about your bag," said one fan, while another seemingly agreed, noting, "I don't care if you bought the bag, your parents, your husband, or of Hermes gifted it to you as a memento of your spectacular performance in Paris. You don't need to justify that bag to anyone."

Others made references to their own parents, with one fan saying, "Calling my mom riiiiih neeeeeow to ask about my bag and to let her know she slacking." Another fan asked, "I just want to know what color."

The 27-year-old gymnast had previously posted snapshots of her shopping spree on her Story, offering a glimpse inside the Hermès store in Paris. Although she shared an image of her new bag in its signature orange box, she kept fans guessing about the specific style or color she selected.

The athlete's extraordinary achievements at the Paris Olympics have made her the most decorated gymnast in history, boasting 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals. This year alone, she added three gold medals in the women's artistic individual all-around, women's artistic team all-around, and women's vault, along with a bronze in the women's floor routine.

Biles' Olympic celebration continued when she enjoyed the Paris nightlife with friends and family. In one video that was shared to X (formerly known as Twitter), the athlete was seen dancing while holding a large American flag over her head with a sign in the background that read, "Simone Biles, God 4 Life" and "Gym legend Simone Biles @ L'Arc Paris." Shortly after the video surfaced, Biles wrote on Threads, "I'm never drinking again," seemingly referencing the exciting night on the town.
