In a heartfelt Instagram post, Candace Cameron Bure revealed the passing of Vladimir Bure — a monumental figure in her family and the sports world. On Wednesday, September 4, the 48-year-old Full House alum expressed her grief over her father-in-law's death, who died at age 73 the previous day.

"Our hearts are broken as we grieve the loss of Val's dad, Vladimir Bure," Candace wrote. "I loved this man so very much. To me, he represented not only the gift of life (my husband) that I am forever grateful for, but one of strength, dedication, motivation, resilience, willpower and love. In my mind, he was the epitome of each of those words, a little bit super human in some way," she added.

The Hollywood star went on to say, "Vladimir was an 4x Olympic medalist in swimming and a 2x Stanley Cup winning coach for the New Jersey Devils. He was a proud father, grandfather, husband and dedicated coach. Most of all, I know how much he loved his family. Thank you for praying for all of the Bure family as we grieve ❤️‍🩹💔🙏🏻."

After posting the tribute, it didn't take long for fans to express their condolences and support.

"Sending you and the Bure family so much love, prayers and support. Vlad is home ❤️🙏✝️," one follower said.

"So sorry for this great loss to your family. Calling with open hands, up to the gates of Heaven to ask Jesus for supernatural peace and comfort during this incredibly difficult time. We are lifting your family up Candace 🤍🙏," another person expressed.

"Wishing your family well 🤍🤍🤍," chimed in a third.
