Brittany Cartwright was playing the long game before announcing her split from Jax Taylor, and she wasn't just rearranging her emotional closet.

In an interview with Daily Mail published Wednesday, September 18, the 35-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum explained she opted for an AirSculpt fat removal and skin tightening procedure in the spring, prepping her "revenge body" before the divorce papers hit the fan.

"I am feeling great these days after getting AirSculpt," she told the publication. "Yeah, you can say I wanted a revenge body. I wanted to look good after everything I've been through this year. I want to look my very best. I wanted to get my sparkle back.'

Cartwright went on to explain that the solo life is a big adjustment for her. "I'm working on myself because I need to heal. To be honest with you, I thought I would be with Jax forever so this is so new for me. It is taking some time to heal and move on."

The reality TV sensation and Taylor, 45, first crossed paths in Las Vegas back in 2015. Their whirlwind romance quickly became the center of much fanfare on the hit show Vanderpump Rules and their own spinoff, Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky. Despite stepping back from the spotlight in 2020, their relationship continued off camera. In March 2024, the pair made their return to television, starring in the new Bravo reality series, The Valley.

Just before Cartwright filed for divorce in August, a source revealed to People that "Jax will return to film The Valley for season 2 after completing his stint at a mental health facility. However, going forward, [Brittany is] not interested in having anything to do with him."

So, what went wrong? It seems the issues were more about the basics than anything scandalous. During the Tuesday, May 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Taylor opened up to host Andy Cohen, explaining the reason for the split was "strictly a communication thing. And until I can fix myself and get to where I want to be, I can't be good for her."

Cartwright and Jax tied the knot in June 2019, and welcomed their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, on April 12, 2021. While the pair have yet to finalize the divorce, the relationship appears to be done. "Unfortunately, she's had enough," the Bravo star shared on the Friday, September 6 episode of their When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany podcast. "And I don't blame her at all. I mean, I can't believe she's been with me this long as it is. That we stayed, to be honest."
